Baby Proofing the Baby’s Room
So you bought the crib, you bought the toys, you bought the monitors and everything else and now you have just put the finishing touches on that adt security system and you think there’s nothing more that needs to be done for the baby’s safety. WRONG! Parenting is a full-time job and there is much that needs to be done in order to successfully baby proof the baby’s room.
For starters, you should always do your research. If you have not yet bought a crib, then check with various manufacturers online to determine the safest one. If you have already bought the crib, check online to make sure your model was not recalled. If it was, no problem, follow the instructions online and send it back. Once you are sure the crib is safe, take a look at the toys you put in it. You might not think a stuffed bear is too heavy but for a newborn, the weight and the size could be deadly – smothering, even. And if you have a wood floor, invest in a soft carpet or rug to soften the surface. Babies like to explore and they sometimes trip and stumble.
A baby is a very fragile creature and you need to do everything you can to ensure his or her safety and future.
